Swimming Pool Tile Cleaning

One step in swimming pool maintenance is keeping the tile clean. Many of the chemicals used these days in pools are of poor quality and are full of fillers like calcium. That calcium can accumulate on the tile at the edge of the pool, making it unsightly. Nearly all pool tiles are made or porcelain, which means they can be cleaned. Ceramic tile is a poor choice because it doesn’t hold up to pool chemicals, let alone pressure cleaning.

There are basically two ways to clean tile. The first is to hire a professional pool cleaning service. The pool cleaners will use a glass bead blasting method (similar to sand blasting) to polish the tiles.

The second method is to use elbow grease! By using pumus stone (and a lot of it) plus plenty of hard work, you can scrub the ugly scum off the tiles.

Pool People has been providing tile and swimming pool maintenance to its customer for over 25 years. Pool People provides regular pool and spa cleaning, pool and spa maintenance, pool remodeling, pool and spa repairs, as well as tile cleaning for residents of the Northwest Valley in Phoenix. We also have a fully stocked pool store at 5830 W. Thunderbird Rd., Suite B-6, Glendale, AZ.
