Many people are unaware that the water in your swimming pool can wear out! Yep! Every time you add chemicals to your pool, you are adding solids (like calcium) that make the water hard. That makes it harder for the water to absorb more chemicals. Eventually, at about 3,000 parts per million, your water just won’t absorb any more chemicals and your swimming pool must be drained and refilled. Typically, this happens every four to six years, but using chemicals with higher filler accelerates the process.
We’ve talked in the past about how chemical companies are adding more and more filler to their chemicals and less and less of the good stuff. So if you are using low quality pool chemicals, that time span may be even less than four to six years. Winter in Arizona is a great time to drain and chemical wash your pool. First, unless you have a heated pool, you aren’t using it. Second, if you do have hard water, the moment spring gets here with warmer temperatures, you are probably going to see an algae bloom that you just can’t get rid of with chemicals, because the water just won’t absorb them.
Pool People can drain the pool and then provide a light chemical wash (not an acid wash which is for pools that have serious stain or algae problems) but a chemical wash that will remove the light layers of dirt, debris, algae and more that are always present on your swimming pool walls.
Best of all, now through March 30, we are offering a drain and chemical wash for $100 off the regular price! Mention this blog to get the $100 off price!
